Alright, so I’ve been eyeing this OMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon” watch for a while now. I finally decided to check it out online, see what’s the deal with it. Let me tell you, it’s a cool-looking watch for sure.
First, I went to check out their website. You know, just browsing around to see what they got. They’ve got all sorts of models, but I was focused on the Speedmaster. I scrolled through a bunch of them, and this Apollo 8 really caught my eye.
I started digging around for more info. They had a bunch of pictures, close-ups, the whole nine yards. This watch, it’s got a black ceramic case, and they’ve got this skeletonized dial that shows you all the mechanics inside. Looks pretty intricate. I read that they call it the “Dark Side of the Moon” because it’s all black and, well, inspired by the moon, I guess. Makes sense.
- Checked out the different color options.
- Looked into the warranty stuff.
- They are offering a 5-year warranty, nice.
They had this whole section about the history of the Speedmaster and how it was used in space missions. I guess it’s a pretty big deal. They even had pictures of astronauts wearing it. I spent a good chunk of time just going through all that, pretty interesting stuff. Even they are having a sale for some reason, I don’t know, not very important to me. But they got lots of models, like this thing called “Seamaster,” not what I am looking for.
So, after all that, I decided to find out where I could actually buy one. I searched for nearby stores, and it looks like there’s one not too far from me. A 5-minute drive from the Mito interchange, not bad. Seems like they have quite a few stores in the North Kanto area. I am thinking about just ordering it online, but I kinda want to see it in person first, you know?
Anyways, that’s where I’m at with this whole watch thing. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna get it, but I might just sleep on it for a bit. It’s a pretty big purchase, so I want to be absolutely sure. We’ll see what happens.
