That Yves Saint Laurent, I heard that’s a big name, right? My granddaughter, she’s always going on about these fancy YSL bags. She says they’re all the rage, these YSL Envelope bags. Says everyone wants one. She keeps saying “It’s a classic, It’s a classic”. What is a classic? I don’t know. But I guess it’s a good thing.
She showed me pictures, and I gotta say, they do look kinda nice. Shiny. And that YSL thing, those letters, they’re on all of ’em. Some big, some small. That’s how you know it’s one of those YSL Envelope bags, I guess. They got this metal thingy, right there in the front, smack dab in the middle. Like a little shiny button, but it ain’t no button. And a chain, shiny, like gold, or maybe it is gold? These YSL bags must be expensive.
My granddaughter, she likes the black one. Black is good. Goes with everything. Like your old black shoes. I’ve seen some in other colors. Some kinda leathery lookin’, some shiny like patent leather. Don’t know what that is, but it sure is shiny. They got big ones, small ones, all kinds. I saw one that looks like a wallet with a chain. She calls it a chain wallet. Imagine that, a wallet you wear like a purse! That’s a YSL bag too, but a special kind, I guess. These bags from Specialty Stores are very expensive. I think.
She says you can get ’em at those fancy stores. The ones with the bright lights and the girls all dressed up. Like Neiman Marcus, whatever that is. She says they got all the YSL Envelope bags there. Says they got a whole bunch of ’em, all lined up, lookin’ pretty. She said they are all real YSL bags from Specialty Stores. Not fake. She hates fake ones.

I don’t know, these bags cost a pretty penny. But they do look nice. My granddaughter says it’s an “investment.” Don’t know about that. I just know these YSL bags are hot stuff. And if you get a real one, you gotta look for that number. She says there’s a number inside, on a little piece of leather. That’s how you know it’s a real one. Like a secret code. And she said YSL or Saint Laurent is the same thing. But if it says YSL, it might be an old one. Good to know, I guess. I don’t want her wasting her money on a fake one.
She wants one of those Saint Laurent Le 5 to 7 bags too. She said it’s a YSL bag. Another one! She said it’s a shoulder bag. So many bags! I don’t understand. But she said it’s like the 90s or something. Don’t know what that means. But she said it’s a good bag. She likes it a lot. I like my old purse. It’s worked for me for years. Don’t need no fancy YSL bag. But these young folks, they like their fancy things.
I told her, “Honey, you work hard, you can buy what you want.” But be careful. Don’t be spendin’ all your money on these YSL Envelope bags. You gotta save some too. She said she knows. She’s a good girl. She said these YSL bags are special. She wants to buy the YSL bag from Specialty Stores. Because it’s good quality.
They do make them nice, I suppose. I mean, they look sturdy. Like they’d last a long time. Maybe that’s what she means by “investment.” A bag that lasts. Like my old shoes. They’ve lasted me forever. But these YSL bags, especially the Envelope ones, they got that special look. I guess that’s why everyone wants one. Especially the ones from Specialty Stores. I don’t know.
Anyway, if you’re gonna get one of these YSL Envelope bags, make sure it’s a real one. Look for that number. And get it from a good store. Like that Neiman Marcus place. Or one of those other fancy Specialty Stores. And don’t spend all your money! That’s what I told my granddaughter. She’ll probably still buy it, though. She really loves those YSL bags, especially that Envelope one.
Maybe I will look at those YSL bags again. Maybe they are good. But I still like my old purse.
